Izabel Alfany is Biologist, holds a PhD in Biomedicine from the University of Barcelona and a master’s degree in Business Innovation from EUNCET Business School & Polytechnic University of Catalonia. She has over 10 years of leadership experience with international collaborations, fundraising and Health technologies.Currently, she is the Head of Health Platform at Leitat Technological Center – leading Spanish R&D organisation; responsible for the strategic initiatives in the Health sector.

She manages the promotion of new collaborations and represents the Organisation in different cutting-edge initiatives, such as EIT-HEALTH, ECHAlliance or ETP-Nanomedicine. Izabel is co-chairing of EARTO’s WG of MEDTECH, defending the interests of Research and Technology Organisations in the upcoming health related funding schemes in Europe and reinforcing their profile as key players. Furthermore, she is representing the Spanish members sitting on the EIT-HEALTH's Strategic Innovation Board and assisting the European Commission with the evaluation of proposals and the review of projects, as independent expert.
